Ten Vivace! Treble Choir students will be selected to perform in Puccini’s La Bohéme with Tacoma Opera at Tacoma’s Rialto Theatre!

La Bohème is a well-loved opera in four acts by Italian composer by Giacomo Puccini in 1896. The story, a sweetly tragic romance, was based on the episodic novel Scènes de la vie de bohème (1847–49; “Scenes of Bohemian Life”) by French writer Henri Murger. A success from the beginning, it is one of the most frequently performed of all operas. Our Vivace Treble singers appear on Christmas-themed village stage, in 19th century costuming join the adults spirited singing near the beginning of ACT 2 (about 4.5 in) and remain on stage during the opening scenes (6-8 minutes) Our students will take a formal bow at the end of Act 2 and are dismissed). Students will learn their parts at Monday Vivace! rehearsals (their rehearsal will be extended to 5:20), then take part in several of the Tacoma Opera rehearsals (limited times) and star in of three performances in Tacoma’s Rialto Theatre (dates and times below).
